ARTICLE Spanish-Language Site Awarded "Outstanding Achievement in Web Site Development" by Web Marketing Association

CYPRESS, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2008) – UnitedHealthcare’s Spanish-language Web site, www.uhclatino.com, was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Web Site Development in this year’s WebAwards by the Web Marketing Association.

The Web site won awards in two categories: Health Care Standard of Excellence and Insurance Standard of Excellence.

 

Now in its 12th year, the WebAwards, according to the Web Marketing Association, “is the premier annual Web site award competition that names the best Web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all Web site development.”  More than 2,400 Web sites from 45 countries entered this year’s competition.  Entries were judged on design, copywriting, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation and use of technology and are adjudicated by a diverse team of Web-development professionals including marketing and advertising executives, webmasters, content providers and members of the media.

 

The uhclatino.com site provides bilingual (English/Spanish) UnitedHealthcare commercial plan customers as well as the general public information, resources and interactive programs designed to engage Hispanics in playing a greater role in their health and well-being.  Additionally, visitors can locate Spanish-speaking physicians within UnitedHealthcare’s nationwide health care provider network; find healthful recipes to help improve their diets; take part in activities such as quizzes and calculators that help them assess their risks for certain illnesses; and much more.  The site was designed and hosted by Sensis under the direction of UnitedHealthcare’s Latino Health Solutions.

 

According to Latino Health Solutions Vice President Russell Bennett, “Uhclatino.com reflects the company’s commitment to ensure its Hispanic, bilingual (English/Spanish) customers have access to health care information that is culturally and linguistically relevant.
